Bloemfontein – Diamonds, dagga and stolen vehicles were seized at South Africa’s Free State border with Lesotho over the past week, the SA National Defence Force said on Monday.
Two men from Lesotho were arrested on Thursday for illegally crossing the border into South Africa with 329 diamonds worth about R3.2 million, Colonel Jan Andreas said in a statement.
Two South African citizens were arrested last Sunday after they were found with 800kg of dagga with an estimated street value of R800 000.
On the same day, two stolen school buses were found stuck in the mud in the Caledon River. Four other vehicles were impounded by the Ladybrand vehicle identification theft unit.
