Police confiscated hydroponically cultivated dagga worth R663 000 in a raid on a Lions River farmhouse in the KZN Midlands on Wednesday.
Pietermaritzburg Organised Crime Unit police arrested a 44-year old daggafarian on charges of cultivating and dealing in dagga.
The police “received information” that dagga was being grown in the area and staked out the farmhouse before raiding the property.
South African Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker, said it was alleged the suspect was renting a property on the farm.
Hydroponically cultivated dagga was found in the garage and more dagga was found in one of the rooms.
The daggafarian was expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
