THREE NABBED WHILE LOADING DAGGA
SAPSThe fight against drug trafficking gained success when police arrested three suspects for possession of dagga early in the morning today along R24 road near Olifantsnek outside Rustenburg.

It is alleged that the suspects with ages ranging between 35 and 47 were arrested after a motorist became suspicious about the activity that was taking place along the road. The incident was reported to Flying Squad members who were on patrol along that route, and they responded swiftly to the call.  According to the information, the suspects were found loading bags into a Toyota Quantum. Upon investigation, it was discovered that bags were containing dagga.

The suspects, two men and a woman were arrested for possession of seven bags of dagga weighing 165 kg with estimated street value of R100 000, 00.  The suspects will appear in Rustenburg Magistrates Court on Friday, 31 October 2014.

The North West Acting Provincial Commissioner; Major General Jacob Tsumane commended the members for their swift reaction as well as the tip-off that led to apprehension of the suspects.  “We really appreciate the support we are getting from the broader community because it is only through their cooperation that we will win the fight against crime”,  said Major General Jacob Tsumane.
