Police Cook In Hot Soup Over Medical Marijuana

Update:  The prison cook has been released on R500 bail and is expected to appear in court on 7 January 2015

SA Police Service employee caught with four matchboxes of dagga.

Tonga police arrested a 42 year old daggafarian who was caught allegedly supplying medical cannabis to inmates at the Tonga police cells.

According to the Tonga police spokesperson, Lieutenant Mzwandile Nyambi the daggfarian works as a cook at Tonga SAPS and the incident occurred during visiting hours on Thursday the 6th of November.

Police were busy with the visitors when the daggafarian cook used the chance to bring the medical marijuana into the cells. Unfortunately one of the police officers who were busy with the visitors saw the inmate with a plastic bag stashed in his pocket.

Nyambi said the official then searched the inmate and found the dagga inside the plastic bag.

Nyatsi added that a case of possession of dagga was then opened and both the cook and the inmate were charged with possession of dagga. Both appeared before the Nkomazi Magistrate’s court on Friday and have been released on bail of R500 each.
